"keep a green tree in your heart
and perhaps a singing bird will come."

more blue and green......with just a hint of hot pink and yellow-orange (my vacation from using orange didn't last too long, did it.....!).

just to say hello

i created these little doodle letters and decided to make a greeting card....just to say hello!

the decorative scrapbook paper is by K&Company, the greenhouse collection, designed by carolyn gavin. other materials used to finish the card are: micron pens, watercolor pencils, niji waterbrush, fiskars border punch, ribbon, and a glue stick. the finished card measures 5.5" x 4.25"

fabriano bliss

julie prichard suggested that we use this fabriano medioevalis paper for our third book structure in her online class, super nova. i ordered a box of this from dick blick....and boy do i love it!
my first project with this paper was giving it a "test run" by creating this little piece using my pentel colorbrush, micron pens and watercolor pencils. and then my second project was filming a video of this entire process, editing it in imovie (huge learning curve here!!), and then trying to do the you tube thing. unfortunately, by the time it reached you tube, the quality suffered and i'm trying to figure out how to fix it before i put it back out there in cyberspace. so....in a way, this is like seeing the finished project before you see the process....kind of like eating dessert before your dinner. no surprise that i would find a food analogy to go with a computer issue....

journal happiness

firstly, and most importantly.....thank you SO much for your sweet, sweet encouraging comments regarding my journal entry the other day!! i feel like i never have the adequate words to express to you how much i appreciate your visits and comments....probably because there really are no words that have been invented yet! so, i hope that you don't get tired of me giving you big bloggy bear hugs, because i'm giving you one right now!!
this journal entry was created the same day as the first one that i shared with you. i thought it would be a fun way to jot down some of the highlights of the day....and i'm so "grid oriented and in the box" that this format felt comfortable to me. plus, there's part of me that thinks that if i divide a page up into little blocks, then i don't have to fill the big blank page, just fill one block at a time (crazy, i know, but you gotta go with what works!). and.... i noticed just yesterday that terri-leigh has created some great journal pages using a great watercolored, relaxed style. you can see them here! happy weekend to you!!
