switching gears

sometimes when i'm trying to learn a new technique......like drawing hair, for example.....and it's not going too well, i like to switch gears.
totally.
so, today i'm trading in my journal and graphite for my sewing machine and these fun mary engelbreit fabrics.
it's time for a little fabric play!

  13. Switching gears is a great way to overcome blocks. I switch from painting to jewelry making. Jewelry is so technical and requires a totally different way of thinking. Can's wait to see what you make!

  15. Isn't life funny? Why is it that when things aren't going just right, and you go away for a while, things get better when you get back to what you were working on?

  23. I know just what you mean, Lori! :-)

I try to get back into a "comfort zone" when I'm working on a new skill that seems challenging. It helps me hang on to my confidence. :-)

I'll echo the rest of the kids ;-) and say that I can't wait to see what you make with your pretty fabric.
