meet the waxmelter.
at first glance, the design might remind you of a re-worked woodburning tool that your brother may have created in his high school shop class....and the delightfully charming retro-just-pulled-it-out-of-a-1974-time-capsule-packaging helps to keep the concept of melting wax onto fabric and paper nice and simple.....and these days, i'm really into simple. i've tried using these tjanting tools in the past, but my lack of patience with all of the dripping wax left me frustrated and disappointed in the results, not to mention a few burned fingers. so, in the spirit of always-willing-to-try-something-new (and after watching this video), i'm happy to have this new toy in my toolbox......now i just need to find some time to play!
Ohhhh, I can't wait to see what you do with it. Thanks for the link to the video. Unfortunately I will have to watch it later - when the speakers have been hooked up. It's reno time around here right now.
ReplyDeletethis reminds me of the waxing tool they use to create those beautiful Ukranian eggs...is it?
ReplyDeletecan't wait to see the playing results! I am positive we are in for some fun things!
ReplyDeletemelting wax: what a fright!

ReplyDeleteYour new toy reminds me of making Ukrainian Easter Eggs when I was a teenager. I used a wax melter on eggs for each color and then melted it all of when I was finished. Very fun. Can't wait to see what you make, like batik??
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen one of these before - thanks for the tip. And please do post what you've made using it. I'm sure it'll be marvelous.
ReplyDeletehmmmm, very interesting, thanks for sharing. Hugs
ReplyDeleteThese are great to draw then dye fabric too. The electric version should be much easier to use.
ReplyDeleteHi Sweetie! Another little something you just taught me about!
ReplyDeleteI've never seen anything like this, Lori! I can't wait to see how you use this! Wishing you lots of creative free time so you can play, and make wonderful things! xoxo Paulette ;)
