be creative

being a happy person doesn't mean that you're void of problems.
believe me, i have them. actually, i have lots of them.
but i also have a choice. i have a choice of how i react to them.
i try to handle them the best i can, in the most positive way i can.
this approach doesn't always work, but that's what i aim for.
do i get bummed sometimes? yep.
frustrated, irritated? yep, yep.
do i want to be bummed, frustrated & irritated? nope, nope & nope.
therefore, i create.
because being creative makes me happy.

be creative=be happy.

  2. P.s. If you watch MONK, then you'll know that every TV show has a pineapple in it. If you watched WKRP Cincinatti from the 70s-80's there was that one guy who always had a bandaid on.

Here at Elvie Studio, anytime you post a creative doodle if I look carefully I can spot those adorable b/w checkered glasses!

    Love it :D

  6. I am right up there on a soapbox stage, dancing the Happy Dance with you, lori, my sweet dear friend! Not because my life is perfect or always jolly, but because I have made the choice to be positive because it brings so much much more positive into my life, and therefore into the world! It brought me you and it brought my incredible Bloggy World of friends, and it's good for our health! If we choose to leave a not-so-happy post on our blogs, it's probably because we need a little support from our friends! Who doesn't need a bit of support every now and then? ...and that, of course, leads to more happy...here we go again...the Happy Dance of Choice!

  8. Oh Lori, I love what you with your little Thumb people. So cute, and they make me smile too. Love the sentiment, and I agree that we do have a choice in how we react to life's circumstances. So true, and I love that you're passing that message on. Linda E.

  16. oh lori, you are speaking my language here, sister! i've been writing a blog post in my brain for weeks about this big "be authentic" movement that has taken over blogland. for me, i don't feel that not sharing my frustrations, bad moods, etc, is "not being authentic". like you, i have my bad days too! and like you, i know that while i might not necessarily be able to control what happens, i can control how i react to what happens. and i choose happiness. happiness is a choice! :-)
