allow me to introduce you to my weekend project.
scary, isn't it?
even the dust bunnies won't venture into the depths of those piles without laying down some hansel-and-gretel bread crumbs to ensure safe escape.
but what's even worse is that not only is this original artwork
(just laying out in the open for said dust bunnies to drop crumbs on),
but it's actually my filing system for it.....yikes!!
what started out as horrifying is now terrifying....
my only redemption is that i've at least made an attempt to
keep my scrap papers tidy.....by throwing them into this shoebox.
i'm thinking about using this same innovative idea to "organize" all of these security envelopes that i've been saving for months now.....with the hopes that i'll have an aha moment as to how to use them in a clever way.
there's no more procrastinating......it's time to roll up my sleeves, play some zippy music really loud, and get started with a new filing system. in my mind, this will probably take at least three months to organize (which has been my favorite excuse in not organizing it thus far!), but the reality of it is that it will most likely only take the better part of an afternoon. which leaves me plenty of time to start re-organizing my new chocolate stash in the kitchen pantry.....
happy projects to you this weekend!!
p.s. thank you SO much for your blog love regarding my interview with carmen yesterday. you make my heart so happy with your sweetness.....many bear hugs to you!! xox
I have to be honest and admit that my PaperPumpkin Room is STILL worse...and so are its piles. I meant to clean and organize...I did mean to....really...but it's so much more fun when I can SEE it all laying about in the open. All over. Right?
ReplyDeletewooh!!! dat luks like a pretty busy weekend... all the very best!!!
ReplyDeletelove yr workplace though...that 'hand with heart' just so stands out :)
Happy organizing. I always love the feeling of sitting down afterwards, all chuffed and proud. I will be doing my little room over the winter ( I hope to find time ) yours looks fabulous even now! X

Just think how wonderful it will be when all is finished and you can start cluttering that clean surface again. Oh the new projects to be started on that clean slate!
ReplyDeleteSometimes I can get really inspired whilst organizing. But I always to forget to write down all those lovely ideas.

ReplyDeleteI love your space!!!
Um... yeah... see that organized pegboard? Right there you are waaay ahead of me!!!
ReplyDelete;)
Good luck and have fun with it!
I don't know...it looks pretty organized to me. Even the troll looks happy. Maybe he enjoys cavorting with the dust bunnies when you're not around.
ReplyDeleteAh.... I can feel a little nudge that I need to do some organizing myself. Your cheeriness is almost enough to get me started.... maybe next week. This weekend is already booked. Have fun with your organizing! I know it is nice to put your feet up and relax when it is all done!!
ReplyDeleteoh good luck to you and please feel free to pop on over to my studio when you are finished with yours. Hugs
ReplyDeleteActually I looked at that photo and thought "oooooh, so much to play with". So nope doesn't look bad at all. Let's call it "inspiring creativity". Thanks for your comment to my post-huge hugs!
ReplyDeleteI've got piles of half-finished projects all over the place. I keep saying I'm going to organize...maybe tomorrow. ;) Good luck!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a bit of a job. That peg board looks sooo organized, though. Good luck with that organization and make sure you choose a worthy reward when you are done.
ReplyDeleteonferWell I am making sayings today for Idaho gallery so I have paper scraps EVERYWHERE. I can feel your pain, Lori. Have a great day I am sure it will be beautiful. xoxox
ReplyDeleteJust happened onto your blog. Good luck with your organizing. I honestly hate dealing with paper piles. I enjoy organizing anything else, but somehow (I swear it's true!)paper in one pile reproduces while you are working on another pile. Connie
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your cleaning project!
ReplyDeleteFiling cabinet. Plastic envelopes. Wire shelves. (And yes, of course, music.)
ReplyDeleteOnce you start you will enjoy it. It's the getting started I think, at least for me. I have closed my studio door for the past week or so. Getting Meg ready and cleaning up around the house has caused it to get the overflow of stuff!! Probably because we can close the door!! :) So for the next day or two I will be cleaning and organizing too!!!!
ReplyDeleteCrank up the music and get rolling!!! :)
I will have to go take a peek at your interview.
Hi Lori!
ReplyDeleteWell, it looks pretty organized to me. I love your work space!!!
xoxox
You know Lori...that doesn't look too bad to me. I bet you'll have fun discovering all sorts of "ooh, I forgot about that" kinds of stuff in that treasure pile!...as far as organizing the new chocolate stash in the pantry...why bother...how long is it going to last, anyway?! (wink, wink!) xoxo Paulette
