the best intentions

this year i was all set to wrap my presents in brown craft paper that had been stamped with fun hand-carved Christmas images (if i only had the time to carve the stamp and stamp the paper!).....and then finish them off with some of that adorable twisted kitchen twine. but i've noticed that the calendar days keep ticking off, and i don't seem to be crossing things off my "to do list" very quickly.  and now i'm realizing that my brown-craft-paper idea will have to wait until next year......when i'm hopefully more organized......and maybe decide to start in august (since i had this brown-craft-paper idea last year, too!).

but for now, it's back to my store-bought-wrapping party.....
hope you have a fabulous weekend!!!

  4. O my goodness, you're so brilliant. I love craft paper wrapping, but don't be dismayed if it is for next year.

I tell you, it's a miracle that I survive the holidays. Gift wrapping should be optional. LOL. Thank God for gift bags!

  7. Just a side note: don't try stamping on the paper AFTER it's wrapped!! DAH! I tried to short cut it, it doesn't work!

  20. I know all of your packages will be wrapped up perfectly adorably Lori, even if you can't do them the way you planned...which by the way, sounds soooo cute! Everything you do, you do with all your heart, so no worries...and trust me, next year will be here before you know it, so don't wait till August, start carving now! xoxo Paulette

  21. You make me laugh! Time seems to evaporate in December-some of us (me) don't even wrap-I use gift bags for dh, the same ones every year.

  22. I love the title of this post---especially as I'm still pondering as to what my Christmas card will be this year...Shutterfly photo of the kids? Store bought with a letter included? Hand-stamped homemade glittered up card? I know that my blood pressure is slightly elevated today as I look at the calendar...

It makes me feel so much better and able to just laugh it all off when others reveal that they too have to cut their losses and just get it done...Thanks for sharing today!

  24. Oh, I know how that goes! I say, start making your paper in January, then you'll have it ready for next year. :)

I did little watercolored scenes and birds on craft paper one year. Unfortunately that set the bar really high, and now people are disappointed when they get generic store-bought paper.

    Have a wonderful holiday!

    xoxo,

    Kate
