i had some time for a little journal play yesterday, and i was inspired to use some materials i don't reach for very often......watercolor crayons and some watersoluble pencils. the crayons gave a nice vivid watercolor on the page, and the pencils were fun to use......i just made lines on the page and then went over the marks using a wet paintbrush (the water softens the lines and creates a grey wash). these supplies, along with your waterbrush, would be great to travel with, and they're perfect for times when you only have a few minutes of creative time left in your day!
word images are from my red rubber collection.
Perhaps you will use them more often now that you know how much fun they are to play with. Love the shadow effect of the letters.

ReplyDeleteWow - I love this image. It makes my creative mind start running in place - it lines up with some images rolling around in my mind for me for this year. I'm sure you've heard of the 'Word of the Year' -- what I've chosen for myself is 'Color MY World' - a little take off on your cute rubber stamp. In any case doing things with multiple colors is totally running through my mind at this point so I got a huge smile on my face when I saw your post today. Stay tuned for more info on my words for 2011 - I'll be putting something on my blog as soon as some computer software upgrades complete -- so I can crop my scanned image again.
ReplyDeleteSimply elegant inspiration. Happy week...
ReplyDeleteEvery time I see you lettering I get a bit envious. And every time I wow to at least take more time and use the shadow effect like you do :)
ReplyDeleteSo Pretty! Will start a new creative journal for 2011!
ReplyDeleteGreetings Lori,
ReplyDeleteThis post and the previous one I find very meaningful and one that speaks to all of us especially this time of year.
Now all we need to do is remind ourselves every couple of weeks not to lose sight.
Thank you for sharing,
Egmont
I find it so cool how we can simply view or read one's inspirations and be so inspired. When I look at your creations, I just want to exhale and be assured that I am "Ok"...lol. Is that silly or what? Then again, isn't that the whole point?
ReplyDeleteI love it! :-)
Many positive thoughts and prayers!
sigh... i want to write as tidily as you do!
ReplyDeleteHI, Lori,
