start by painting some watercolor splotches on your paper......

and then outline them with a permanent marker.
add eyes, a beak, and all those other birdie things......
and you have a nice little flock of chickadees!
but why stop there?
somewhere in those watercolor blobs there might also be some piggies.....

and mousies.....
and bunnies......oh, my!
cyberspace is jam-packed with spectacular ideas......
let inspiration and a little play help you to put your own spin on them!!

ReplyDeleteThank you for this inspiration. I was searching "easy watercolor for kids", as I prepare to teach a group of homeschooled kids basic watercolor. I think I'll have them mix each "body" using primary colors to get a rainbow of chickadees. Adorable.
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet inspiring idea - kids will love to do this. And of course I'll have to have a go myself!

ReplyDeleteJust wanted to say thanks. I have zero art skills, but find drawing relaxing (and I need that, lately). I tried this and it is super simple and I actually liked the end result!
ReplyDeleteThanks again.
Thank you Elvie, I was inspired by your beautiful bird images to create a card for our loved ones. I appreciate your generous posts :D)
ReplyDeleteI'm not a fan of other people copying other people's work. She could have at least given you or nondairydiary.com credit for the inspiration. I read about someone else who reproduced these birds and tried to copyright them as their own, so my hackles went up when I saw this post on You Tube.
