saddle oxford into a stamp

several days have gone by since i carved an image of my beloved mary janes, and to continue on with the theme, today i decided to see if i could do the same thing with my drawing of the classic saddle oxford.

it took a little longer to carve this one because of all of the tiny details...but i was so happy with the results that i decided to make a card using my new stamp!  i don't currently own a pair of saddle oxfords, but they're so cute that i may just have to invest in a pair!  have a fabulous weekend!!   click on image for larger view

  4. I just love this one too. Further to your Mary Janes. I was looking throught the latest edition of Quiltng Arts magazine (Apr/May 2009) and there were MJs in thread painting done by Carol Watkins. I immediately thought of you and your stamp. Scroll the left-hand frame.

  6. Lori,
    You're 'shoe' adorable!
    A 'sole' sister at heart!
    A 'heel'arious, fun-loving friend!
    I'm 'pump'ed for you!

(OK I'm going to stop here; friends who read this may abandon me). Huge hugs; I'm so proud of your work.

  7. That is so cute! I love how the stamped shoe is such a clean graphic style, compared to the detailed pencil drawing of the original. Together they really (har) make a perfect pair. Sorry, I couldn't resist.

  10. In 3rd grade I had to wear saddle oxfords as part of my school uniform. I hated them then, but I really wish I had a reason to have to wear them again.

  13. OK, you are getting so good at shoes, how about a card with some feathered high-heeled mules? :)

Thanks for the nice note you left on my post today. It's always nice when you stop by to visit.

And yes, it would be AWESOME to get together with you!

    Hugs,

    Kate

  14. This is fantastic! You are very gifted. Have you thought of doing custom orders? People could send you a snapshot, and you could do a personalized stamp for them (without the smelly shoe part!!). That would be very cool!
