practice makes perfect. :)
and while i'd love to be more perfect in painting flowers and leaves (i've never had a knack for it), i'm having more of a problem with the "practice" part. because when i start practicing, and painting leaves, for example, it doesn't take too long for my mind to start wandering.....
and before i know it, i start to think of other things i could be doing with those leaves.
like doodling little fishies.....
or little birdies flying in for a landing.....
or writing secret little messages.....
or other strange things that pop into my head
(i'm taking suggestions as to what to call this little guy....)
so i really shouldn't be too surprised when i sometimes feel like i don't get too much accomplished......
or why i still can't paint leaves too well......heeheehee.
:))
How gorgeous - I love your leaves! :-)
ReplyDeleteI love your whimsical playful art. Who needs leaves when they can have such fun fish, birds, secret messages and such a cute little hat wearing critter. Happy practicing...
ReplyDeleteI wish my mind wandered as productively and creatively as yours. Keep meandering through the "windmills of your mind", as someone once sang.
ReplyDeletekinda looks like you DID get something accomplished! :-)
ReplyDeleteThat little guy looks like a tad pole too me.
ReplyDeleteOh I love 'em all!

But... this is so much more interesting thean kust plain leaves. And it shows how creative you are, and how much phantasie you have - good thing!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!! love these little creatures, leaves.
ReplyDeleteBut your leaves are just so much more interesting!
ReplyDeleteI love what you see in your leaves!!!
ReplyDeleteFun...this is just a FUN post!! I'm no good at names so I won't contribute there, but if more of those leaves become something else, I wanna See!! I wanna See!!
ReplyDeleteSo funny--I love it!
ReplyDeleteLOVE it, Lori. And I'm definitely OK with the all play and no work! :D
ReplyDeleteLove it! How creative you are. This would make a great design for a card.
ReplyDeleteLol, that is awesome!
ReplyDeletei love this!!! your little critters are way cuter than flowers. the little hatted fellow should be named "too cute stuART" or stu for short!
ReplyDeleteLori, I love this!!! I think you should continue to paint what pops into your lovely, creative head!!
ReplyDeleteI think the little critter is a Leaf Hopper!!! lol
xxoo
Ah.... but I can see/feel that you had fun!! ;-)
ReplyDeletesuperb and funny
ReplyDeletewhimsical and light
You are a bad influence on me (in a good way!) I saw your leaf doodles, then I went back to my practice leaves (I'm taking Martha's class) - and now all I see are birds, not leaves. It's double the fun for half the effort! You are too much...
ReplyDeletePat
I happen to think they are better than just silly 'ol leaves anyway!
