you may have already heard the buzz in blogland....julie pritchard's new classes have begun! i've seen so many wonderful things from all of you who took her "layer love" class, that when she offered this class about making books, i couldn't resist signing up! it's been a while since i've created any new books, so i couldn't wait to watch julie's videos, get my supplies out, start sewing up the book block....
and then make the covers out of this paste paper that i painted a few months ago....it seems to feed this creative appetite that i'm having for the color orange these days!
julie recommends using fabriano paper for the text pages (which is fabulous paper!), but i decided to use this watercolor paper in my stash. the word "play" was written with my pentel colorbrush....it's definitely one of my favorite toys!
thanks, julie.... i'm already looking forward to next week's class!

the color choice sure brightens up my day; the stiching on the cover gives it some personality as well
Sounds like a fun class, and your book is so bright and whimsical! If you have a moment, drop me a line about how you connected with her. I click on her link and it's "invitation only". Wondering how to find out more about her classes...

A very happy and cheerful book Lori! I like Pentel Colorbrushes too. The bristles come to such a fine point. :-)
Hi Lori! What a BEAUTIFUL book!!! I love the painted paper that you used for the covers, and your lettering which is ALWAYS so lovely! I would have been nervous to poke holes in that beauty too,(you're very brave!) but it came out sooo perfectly, and the stitching is just so pretty! I love it all!!!! Hugs, Paulette :o)
