biltmore gardens

this past weekend my little-dutch-sweetie-boy treated me to another getaway to biltmore house.  for so many reasons, it's one of my most favorite places ever (the estate is gorgeous, i love the story of george and edith, and it's hard not to think of downton abbey as you're soaking up the splendor of it all....).  and as fabulous as the house is, the gardens are equally spectacular.....you could probably spend an entire week strolling through the lush flora and fauna and still not see it all.....

so i tried to capture some of mother nature's marvels in my journal.....
to remind me of a perfect weekend spent with my perfectly wonderful guy!

thank you, dutch-sweetie....
you make all my days happily-ever-after days!!  xox

{this biltmore artwork was created in my moleskine journal using koi watercolor,
derwent inktense pencils, pitt pens, and a 6B graphite pencil}

stunning photos. it reminds me very quickly that nature is the ultimate artist. the colors, patterns, textures!

i love biltmore too. i also love the moses cone home on the blue ridge. i love sitting on that amazing porch and rocking, feeling ever bit, looking out over the rolling hills, that it is MY house. they never seem to agree but it's my imagination!

thanks to the dutch sweetie for giving you even more inspiration.

A magnificent mansion and gardens also spectacularly beautiful. It is very easy to be transported to another time and imagine meet Lady Mary or Cora, walking in the park. Beautiful drawing of garden plants.
Kisses.

I can't believe I missed visiting Biltmore Estate when I was in that area a few years ago. Your drawings look just like the photos. Nature is the ultimate in amazing colors, textures and design. Chocolate Bliss Dear...

The Biltmore estate was one of the most beautiful places I've ever visited...I can't wait to visit again one day. And now I know I must also see the gardens! Thanks for sharing your photos. :)
