ocean of truth

here's a little sneaky peeky at a book i made using the paste paper from yesterday's post.
i tore it into four pieces and folded them to make the pages. then i mixed up a little bit of dr. martin's bleedproof white and grabbed my favorite calligraphy nib and began lettering a little quote. then i bound it all together using a pamphlet stitch, and added some little white shell beads that i've had in my stash forever.
and for the inside......i'm actually still trying to decide whether it's "finished" .....some of the pages look like they could use a little illustration, but i'm not sure, so i think i'm going to put it away, go back to it in a few days, and then see how it looks!

book finished using paste paper, dr. martin's bleedproof white, eagle falcon nib, waxed linen thread, shell beads

You're killing me! It took me over a month to get my paste paper book finished (not even including the paper making!), and you've done this fabulous book from blank paper to fabulous binding in what? 2 days? You're amazing Lori! Well and beautifull done!!

How wonderful this looks! I knew that paste paper would look pretty in whatever you made, but this is really special. Love the shells, too. You are so smart to wait a few days to see if it's "done" or not. (Remember the old commercial: "Is it soup yet?")

I have over-worked a project or two, by not being patient enough to come back to it after a bit of time passed. ;-)

BTW, Miss Lori, you have a prize waiting. Did my email get through?

Hugs, Crystal :-)

The quote goes perfectly with the background. And I thought it was "scratched" in at first. Great calligraphy!

Beautiful journal Lori! I actually thought you had lettered into the wet paste paper. With your lettering it would be quite beautiful too.

Hi Lori! Your "ocean of truth" turned out fabulous! Magical color combos. I so enjoyed your wip post. My backgrounds tend to get a little muddy when I'm playing with paints too. Love the shells you added. Another perfect and inspiring creation! Wishing you a Happy Easter Holiday! :)
