i've been going through this "thing" lately that i want to do something......i just don't know what that something is. i don't function well when i'm in limbo.....i get impatient. and then my impatience can lead to frustration......and i warned frustration a long time ago that it isn't allowed across the threshold of my studio door.
so, i've decided that my limbo/impatience/hovering frustration might be my creative self's way of letting me know that maybe it's time to do a little "let go, and let grow".....maybe it's time to do something a little different. so, today i've put away my journal, my papers, and my glue stick and i got out a piece of muslin fabric. and you probably know me well enough to know that if i'm gonna let go, i'm gonna let-grow-happy.....and for me, happy comes in the shape of letterforms.....happy letterforms.......using a new pilot fabric pen that has japanese lettering all over it.
i'm not really sure where this piece is going yet......time to start rummaging through my growing collections of "essential supplies" and hopefully add a bit more happy to this.....

Lori your post is so timely for me too. I feel completely in limbo. I love your lettering and your willingness to put aside and "GROW HAPPY". Happy experimenting and finding creative happiness...
P.S. I am certain mine is merely the change of warm to cold weather which I am not fond of. :o)
No better time for me to read your post than today. I've been feeling the same way and not sure when I've already been going through a TON of "changes" over the last month or so. But, I'm still craving something and feeling like I still have yet to find my niche with my own art. I need to remember that anytime I want to be inspired....I should come hug you!! :)
I'm pretty familiar with the icky frustrated feeling too!! Good for you to follow your hunch to get out something different and play!! Love Love Love your letterforms!!!
.....and those cute glasses :D
I can't even picture you getting impatient! I am very excited about your fabric pen and lettering and fabric combo, though!
Some days are like that! Glad you decided not to let it get you down...can't wait to see what grows from your happy changes.
hugs,
tara
Certainly off to a good start! I'm sure you have many ideas of where this could go!
Maybe it's the change in seasons that causes us to want to change what we are doing...I think everyone has the bug....
I can't wait to see where you are going with this....

Hi Lori, I haven't left you a comment for awhile, but I am catching up with my friends tonight. I will interested in how your grow Happy turns out. I am taking a break tonight from my embroidering. I just wanted to read and see what my friends were doing. Have a great day. Your Missouri Friend.
This looks interesting...looks like it is time to head out to the garage and start throwing the paint around:)
"Let-grow happy"...I like this saying of yours very much. Your constant positive outlook is wonderful.
Yummy!! And such wonderful letterforms, too! I love the crisp clean serifs! Such skill. Color me green with envy! LOL And I can't wait to see what you add to it. Please post it after you add more Happy! :)
I'm looking forward to what becomes of the muslin. I'm in a sort of limbo - too many things on the go and nothing completed. Soon. Soon. I just have to FOCUS.

i think that uncomfortable feeling means your about ready for a big shift- i get like that too, and for me, that's what it means. i almost HAVE to get uncomfortable to be willing to take a leap.
good luck with yours...and yes!! always, grow happy! great words!
wow. the good lord is sending all kinds of messages to me today and you are in that mix.
i have been in the worst 'limbo' that i have ever experienced. very depressing (maybe you've noticed a lack of things on my blog the past two months???). i want to do something but i have a major case of the 'not good enoughs' going on right now so i do nothing. i know i need to push through it and just do SOMETHING.
that's great that you are pushing through your limbo - you are so inspirational lori!!!!!! can't wait to see where your new creation leads!
big hugs!!! :-)
GROW HAPPY AND FEED YOUR SOUL WITH CHOCOLATE!!!
