i've probably mentioned before that the only green thumb i'll ever have is one that i paint on myself. my lack of patience combined with my tendency to "over-love" plants makes for a really scary horticultural story! but so far things seem to be going well in our new garden (probably because i've been too busy to start "helping" it). like these hydrangeas, for example.....they are beautiful balls of flowery happiness and i could never have enough of them!
and here's one of my new little friends who stops by frequently for a sweet drink. he's the cutest little thing and i really could just sit and watch him all day long....
and here's the beginnings of my little herb garden. it truly is one of my favorite spots to visit....so far my sweet basil, peppermint and garlic chives are thriving! their sweet fragrance and fresh taste is absolute culinary heaven....and i just love that "barefoot contessa" feeling i get each time i go to snip a little herb goodness!

Oh my... I understand your gardening woes myself! It's not for lack of trying either! But you don't look like you have a brown thumb - Those hydrangeas and your herb garden are beautiful!
For me, gardening is a lot like watercoloring. The chance to kill something exponentially increases the more I fuss around with them! Lori, you garden looks wonderful; even the hummingbird thinks it's an oasis. Did you know hydrangeas were a part of my bridal bouquet? I wish Ina Garten was my neighbor on one side and you on the other :)
Well, Lori,
Your garden pix could qualify for an "Inspiration Monday" post! Beautiful!
I hope you stay too busy, so you don't kill anything off yet. :)
xoxo,
Kate
Love these photos! My garden is a mess, so much rain lately but the humming bird comes to visit too here and it is so lovely to watch. I love them.
It was nice of you to visit me.
Your garden is beautiful to judge from these pictures! We have those hydrangeas as well and just love them! And herbs from the garden are the best!! :) Silke
looks like heaven to me!! i've never tried growing hydrangeas but they are one of my favorite flowers. great shot of the hummingbird. he does look like a sweetheart. we have hummers at our honeysuckle quite often but i could never be quick enough to take a photo.
wish i had a herb garden. sounds like a project coming on, girlfriend!!
Oooh, look at that hummingbird! Great shot.
