welcome to my new studio!

come on in and stay a while! after working on and off for a week now, i think that i've finally reached a point with my new studio where all of the organizational work is done....and now it's time to play!! (my new space has a lot of natural light....unfortunately, my camera sees it as glare, so my apologies for some of the photos)

looking from one corner to the other....

....and this is the view from the other side of the room. i love my peg board hanging on the wall...it holds all of my tools so they're always within reach!

a few years ago i made this little desk....the top of my little dutch boy's old drafting table sits on a base made from two small bookcase units (on each side) from target. also from target (don't you just love that place?) is the black stool and the small baskets that fit perfectly in those little cubby holes!

from ikea, this is the expedit bookcase turned on its side. the picture ledge above is the ribba.

my computer armoire and stamp cabinet all freshly painted and sitting proudly here in the corner! and i must admit that i totally splurged on those fabulous glass door knobs....from one of my all-time favorite places, anthropologie!

more books, artwork and other favorite things!

thanks for letting me show you around....i'll be showing some more detailed photos over the next week!

Make up the guest bed Lori, 'cuz I'm moving in! You pictures are SO great - it looks just like a room in a catalog, advertising beautiful, spare furniture.

Good job.

Oh, and I like the tile floor. It'll be nice and cool in summer, and so easy to sweep up those stray bits of paper from the flurry of activity I know will be happening in there really soon. ;)

xoxo,

Kate

BTW, I meant "spare" in the best sense: as in clean, lean, and simple...

I LOVE your studio space! Thank you for sharing! It reminds me of when I linger in the model rooms at Ikea, just to soak in the lovely organization.

Thanks so much for your recent comments :)

Hi Lori, your studio is perfect. Room for all your supplies, but clean looking to boot. I love all the white. The table you made from the two bookcases looks fantastic. In fact, my husband but together two work stations for my daughter and I using sawhorses(my suggestion) he had suggested bookcases. I wish I had gone with the bookcases!!!! Oh well, nothing stays in the same place for too long in my home - I am also know as roommover!! :)

Blessings,
Mary
