art house

when the art-to-the-5th gals revealed this week's challenge to draw a house….

i went a little crazy with my art supplies…..

and came up with my own version of a fun little art house!
{and there's a bonus room inside with belgian chocolate tucked away,
because all well-designed art houses have a special spot
for the chocolate stash,  you know.  heeheehee}

i hope you have lots of time to
make really awesome stuff this weekend!!  xox

{supplies for this week's DLP challenge:
moleskine planner, fabriano artistico 140 lb HP paper,
derwent inktense pencils, micron and pitt artist pens, pan pastel,
washi tape, 6B and 4B graphite pencils}

numbers four and five

the "inspiration collaboration" continues with boxes #4 and #5!

just as we did on monday,  here's how it works:

i have two "inspiration boxes" packed with a variety of barely used supplies (most of it is brand new!) that i'd like to donate to anyone who can use them.
the "collaboration" part is i'm asking the recipient of each box to pay the shipping cost.

 i have created a video for each box that shows what's inside.  i've used the "flat rate" boxes from the post office,  and they hold quite a lot!  if you're interested in one of these boxes,  and don't mind paying the shipping fee,  please leave a comment telling me which one.....and
please make sure it links back to your blog or e-mail address so i can contact you!

i will leave the comments open until saturday night 10:00 p.m. EST, april 27th,  and let the random integer select the recipients.   once the names have been chosen,  i'll contact you to let you know that i'll be e-mailing you a paypal invoice for the shipping costs.
(this "inspiration collaboration" is open to those over the age of 18)

the recipients for monday's boxes have been chosen....thank you SO much for participating!!
below are the videos for two more inspiration boxes!

inspiration monday

now that my little dutch sweetie and i have made the decision to move up to the mountains,  i'm busy getting our house ready for sale.  that means lots of cleaning (ugh!) and lots of cleaning out.....mainly in my studio!  i'll be moving from a studio-carriage-house over our garage, to a small corner loft area in a condo, and i definitely don't have room for all these extra supplies!  i'm downsizing in a major way,  and since i can't think of anything more inspiring than new art goodies,  i'd love to share some of my supply stash with you!

so.....how about a little "inspiration collaboration"?

i have several "inspiration boxes" packed with a variety of barely used supplies (most of it is brand new!) that i'd like to donate to anyone who can use them.

below are the videos for the first three boxes.....i'll be offering two more boxes on thursday!
(and i'm so sorry for saying "um" so much in these videos.....such a crazy habit!)

inspiration monday

happy new year, bloggy sweeties!!
my first project of 2013 is to finish
a project from last year.....my elvie journal!

so, first......all those miscellaneous art supplies i love so much
 fit perfectly on that last blank page.....

then.....how about some inspiration on that little flap in
the front of the journal.....

and a quick list of materials on the back flap
(because i'll forget if i don't write it down, guaranteed!).

now all that's left to finish is the back cover, so i'm off to get busy!
but before i go, here's a little resolution i plan to follow this year.....heeheehee  :))

{this artwork was created in my elvie journal using pitt artist pens,
derwent inktense pencils, koi watercolor, white uniball signo pen, 4B pencil}

inspiration monday

i must admit that when i put the final details on the last page of my pottery barn journal, i was sad to see it end.  i thought about maybe creating "pottery barn, the sequel", but since that never seems to be a good idea with other things (like movies!), i quickly talked myself out of it.
i really love working in a "themed" journal, so i was inspired for a new idea.  the size of my other journal worked out great, so i created another one just like it using the same format as the pottery barn journal.  once i got the pages torn, folded and sewn together......

 i started to design the cover, using this as my reference,
but changing things around a bit.

then i grabbed my microns and started sketching everything in.

and after i painted everything and
added some little details here and there.....

along with a little title......

i have my very own catalog full of blank pages just
waiting for some pen and paint sketches of my favorite happy-art-stuff
that's in my very own studio!
ooooh......how much fun is this gonna be?!
