better than a plumber

this is the fan that's drying the dampness that remains.....

after using this.....

to remove the water that was coming up under the baseboard and soaking the carpet, carpet pad and subfloor.....because the shower in the master bathroom is on the other side of that wall.....and it's leaking.....

but not just leaking into our bedroom.....
this is an equal opportunity shower leak.....
it's also joined us downstairs in the family room.....

which is why i always, always keep an emergency stock of really good dark chocolate....
to give me something to do until the plumber arrives....

Oh dear, what a NASTY mess. Water is such a wonderful and relaxing thing. Until . . . . . it invades! I would love to see more of that kitchen. I can tell from that little glimpse that it is beautiful.

Hope the plumber hurries.

Oh...you poor girl! I hate nasty little leaks. Well, the upside to this is that yummy stash of chocolate, and a whole bag too! Hope your leak stops leaking soon! Hugs, xoxo ;D

you know, a simple, little ol' leak in our bathroom sink was the cause of our whole bathroom renovation last year at this time. we thought... well, we have to replace the sink, might as well rip out the flooring and put in new flooring, might as well rip off the medicine cabinet and put in a new one, might as well paint the walls and ceiling....
gee, i never thought of having some good dark chocolate on hand to soothe my frazzled nerves...
thank goodness it only leaked down to our unfinished garage ceiling.
you are really gonna need that chocolate for all the rooms you have to touch up!
:-)

Oh dear!! We are still showering in the downstairs guest bedroom bath because of a shower repair in our upstairs bath. It leaked into our daughter's room. We had to have the whole thing replaced. Yea for chocolate!!! :)

Oh! How awful...and stressful without chocolate. You are so good about keeping a smile on your face and a laugh between your friends, lori. Good luck!

Sorry about the leak! I do think that chocolate and hazelnuts can help just about any situation! Best of luck with the repairs.

If you ever need an gret electrician, I just happen to be married to one, lol.

Water leaks are not fun - I speak from experience. Praying it's all resolved soon.

Oh, no!! Not in your new house!!!! Well, at least you can handle it with smile (and chocolate!)

Lori! I have a hole in my ceiling too because we are desperately trying to find where the leakage is coming from! OMG, this is spooky...you & I. What alternate universe has us mirroring our plumbing problems at the same time?! Are you my twin? for reals?

Marie aka Grams said...

Oh My, Lori, We've been there, done that more than once, and chocolate definitely helps. Any excuse will do, but you could enjoy chocolate without a reason...? Good luck.

Oh, I feel for you. I do hope it gets fixed soon. We had a leak once too - years ago. It went into the furnace room but the place where the pipe was leaking was in my studio. A mess was made - big hole in wall meant that fabric and other 'stuff' had to be moved (I don't know if I put all of it back yet.) At least the water did not leak anywhere else.

I hope that your water problem is fixed by now. Were you able to squeeze in some creative time to help soothe the situation? Good luck tomorrow - hope you have a better day.

Water... the bane of every homeowner. So glad the plumber is on the way, and that you had your emergency stash of chocolate to tide you over til he gets there!

I simply MUST put together an emergency stash of my own

Just

oh NOOOOOOOOOOO!!! i know that pain, although it happened on the outside of our house and not the inside. it wasn't as much of an inconvenience as yours probably is, but it was blindingly expensive. our pipes to the water main sprang a leak and we had to dig up the entire left half of the front yard to replace the pipe from the house to the street and then relandscape it all. weeks of work and thousands of dollars. i admit to sneaking dark chocolate for sure and maybe a few nips of something stronger to get through that!

Sorry to hear of your water damage Lori! We had a skylight leak last year. Of course we didn't know there was a leak until water started dripping through one of kitchen ceiling lights. The water had taken an interesting path all through our home. sigh.
