my sweet bloggy friend kathy, aka paper pumpkin, has been creating some fabulous collaged journal pages......and in the process of sharing them with us at her blog, she's also been totally inspiring me! kathy has been taking kelly kilmer's "a life made by hand" class, and highly recommended it, so i decided to take the plunge and dive into the world of collage!
normally, my in-the-box-must-have-a-grid personality resists anything that has to do with collage......but kelly's easy going style makes this seem uncomplicated, even for someone like me. plus, if you get stuck, she offers "collage templates" and lots of journal prompts to get you started! and what i really like is the concept of spending just 15 minutes a day with it.....no over thinking, no over gluing.....just simple creative time!!

and taking even just ten minutes a day to play and collage or doodle...brings surprising rewards to our countenance...
i know I feel happier, cheerier after a creative session.....that might be why I create every day!

I'm always so excited when browsing the paper aisles of our local craft stores, but I never seem to get too far creating with paper because ... well ... you know!!! I'd like to do ALL crafts - and there's never enough time.
But, 15 minutes? Really? I could do *that*!

Funny...I just ordered "Collage Sourcebook" because I want to experiment with collage textiles. And I bought Journal Spilling recently. Guess I'd better put some of this into action, huh? I like where you're going with it so far :).

this is gorgeous ~ I think what I like the best is your writing ~ I love the way your shape your letters and you always put a little whimsy in there too.
I love doing collages - and 15 (or 20) minutes are fine - no time to think it over, just let your "inner artist" do it. Sometimes it's so surprising and wonderful what is created that way!
i just love your purple little glasses sitting there..how many pairs do you have? i find that there are just the cutest reading glasses all over the place nowadays and i simply always think i MUST have another pair for putting some place new.

so happy your rest was restful..sometimes it isn.t so much...but with chocolate and all my favorite movies and a spiffy bike which im sure has a basket on the front...we could have quite the PLAY date.

Looks wonderful...sometimes it's hard to be outside your box! However, it's fun also and can produce a great surprise.
