retail safari

i absolutely LOVE spending time in my studio.   but there are some days that call for a little retail therapy.....and when that happens, i head out the door and go straight to hobby lobby!  it's my number one place for happiness, in the form of every craft supply you can imagine......and when there's a sale going on, the happiness just gets happier!

plus, i've got a 40% off coupon just burning a big hole in my pocket.....
my only problem is trying to decide what to use it for!
should i grab a super-size jar of mod podge.......

or maybe give in to excitement-overload with all these 12x12" paper lovelies?!

my heart starts to beat faster just looking at all these red-rubber beauties.....
how in the world could i ever choose just one?!

or maybe i should just pick a pretty paper punch.
(say that fast three times!!)

of course,  i really don't need any more of these to add to my growing collection......
so i'll just back away very slowly now...... :))

and i suppose i probably don't need any more of these, either.....
but i sure do love looking at them!

and with all those goodies to tempt me,  would you believe all i ended up with was an empty cart and a big hole burnt in my pocket from that coupon?!  for me,  most of the fun is definitely in the craft hunt!  and while i might be leaving hobby lobby empty-handed this time, this retail safari isn't over!
i have lots of other coupons for lots of other craft stores.....
and i also have the entire weekend to let them burn another hole in my pocket!!  woo hoo!

i hope you have some fun-time to go on a retail-safari this weekend, too!!  :))

Oh, how I love it that you can browse all those lovely items and walk away from them. You are so wise in deciding if you really need it or if you would just be adding to you stash. I wish I were so disciplined, then I wouldn't have my hoards of stuff not being used! You truly are an inspiration Lori. :) P.S. I'm really excited about your upcoming online class!!

Sighhhhh... Sometimes I hate living in Montreal. :( We have EVERYTHING here... except a really good craft store. I think language laws are part of the problem (packaging always has to be bilingual) and the fact that Montrealers are more artsy than craftsy. Please share your purchases with us, Lori, so that I can enjoy the trip to Hobby Lobby vicariously! :D

I'm so glad I'm not the only person who does this! Such fun -- even without making any purchases! :)

I had my safari last week at the best craft show in our area! Unfortunately didn't keep my hands in my pockets, but then I did NEED what I bought!! Thanks for the guided tour - we must do it again sometime, he!he!
Have a great weekend! Chrisx

Funny, I'm headed to Hobby Lobby this afternoon. I don't know what I will buy but I will be in the area and will stop in to browse.

YAY! They finally built a Hobby Lobby about 90 minutes north of us and one evening my husband suggested we take a little trip up there- *bliss*. I'm addicted to Basic Grey paper right now, so I snatched some RIGHT up.

You are hilarious, and I did the same thing at Michael's. LOL

Wow, yes, a good craft store makes a creative girl happy! I'll soon need new paints - a good excuse to look at other things too! Happy weekend Lori!

This happens to me, too. When I don't have a coupon -- of course that's when I find something I really want. I've become very selective in buying supplies. I'm not sure whether it's because I already have amassed a good amount at home or whether I've realized less is more...

Oh my goodness...were you standing behind me at Hobby Lobby yesterday? I think maybe so because your photos look just like everything I was looking at : )

I've been in Hobby Lobby when I visited the US last summer and I'm jealous you have those stores. Wish we had them in Belgium!!!!!!

Paper just gives me a rush - similar to fabric. I try to stay away from my favourite store - just down the street but now that I am into knitting that's another store down the street around the corner that I have to avoid. Maybe I should move out to the country... it may be cheaper.

Oh wow, what a shop. I'm just drooling of all the arty goodies on show. :)

Oh, girl. You and me both! I am so excited - they are in the process of building a Hobby Lobby about 1/2 mile away from me. Counting the days 'til the Grand Opening you can bet on that. :)

Happy Friday!

hahaha I did just that yesterday! I wound up using my coupon for a $5 item, what a waste. LOL Happy hunting!

Been there, done that. Sometimes just the looking is enough for me too. I do love that store, lucky for me the nearest one is 100 miles away otherwise I'd spend way too much money there!

whoaaaa your hobby lobby looked well-stocked compared to the one i tried to do some retail therapy in while i was on vacation. but then again,,,good that it was low on stock as i could not buy it then:) i also had a 40% coupon...I used it on something...but i can´t remember anymore what as I was in a daze after combing every inch of the store.

We just had a Hobby Lobby go in 45 min away - but I haven't been there, yet. We do have a Michael's. Lori - I think I would have bought the set of Metallic Sakura Gel Pens to the left of the Microns......... :)

I didn't feel the need for any new supplies until I came here!!!

Ooh...leaving with an empty cart...that requires an amazing amount of discipline! Good luck in your future craft-hunting!

I went to HL this weekend looking to purchase some foam brushes. I took my two grandkids and when we checked out, I had spent nearly $100. Yikes. But I had a great day shopping with my grandkids and I love to buy them craft supplies

Hobby Lobby is a great therapy that every crafter MUST have on their list to "cope" with creativity!! :D hee

Trying to get back to normal since father passed away 2 weeks from today. When you get time, would love for you to stop by my blog to see the last 3 posts. I think I'm on to something and daddy would be SO proud. :)

Love and hugs.
